Resumption of Club Rides
The committee are pleased to announce the planned resumption of Club rides. From 29th March 2021, the resumption of formally organised Club rides are permitted in groups of up to 15 riders.
However, for our club rides the ride leader has the discretion to split rides into smaller groups of no more than six, should they feel more comfortable with that.
Initially, these rides will be non-stop or takeaway refreshments only. Sitting outside at cafes will be permitted from 12th April, subject to the Government’s general guidance for social meetings (wholly separate groups of no more than six riders).
Look out on our Facebook Group for ride details as they resume.
These formally organised rides are exempt from the Rule of Six and permitted to take place in larger groups because of their adherence to a series of Covid-19 mitigation measures, which include (but are not limited to):
• The implementation of test and trace protocols;
• Social distancing of two metres while not riding, and ‘one metre plus’ during rides;
• Guidance on good hand and respiratory hygiene, and;
• Guidance on equipment sharing and self-sufficiency.
Full guidance for all cycling activities and events can be found in ‘The Way Forward’, which can be accessed via the homepage of the British Cycling website. Section 2 contains details on club rides.
